Rocklea Annual Truck Show 2019

There may have been a national election on, but the big event in south east Queensland on everyones mind was the annual truck show at the Rocklea Showgrounds.

1953 Albion Ant.
This Scammell Contractor served in Vietnam 1969-70.
After which time it was fitted with a large tipper and used for farm work on Tarana Station.
From here it was donated by the Phil Usher Pastoral Co. to Joe and Eleanor Durre who have restored it over 12 months with still more to go.
Rated up to 240 tonne the contractor is powered by a Cummins NTC335 through a 5-speed Allison auto, transmitting this power
to the road surface through Leylands 48,000lb Hub reduction differentials.
This 1948 AEC Regal lll is
an ex-Brisbane City Council bus. Unit 80 saw service from April 1948-1976. In 2014 it was refurbished by the Queensland Omnibus & Coach Society Inc. It runs a 9.6litre, 6-cylinder AEC A208 diesel of 125hp @ 1800rpm through a Wilson 4-speed pre-select gearbox and worm drive differential.

With more than 2,000 spectators making their way through the gates over the course of the weekend, club members where more than delighted with the success of this years event.
